A Healthy Chocolate Smoothie That Tastes Like Dessert

Sometimes chocolate is the only thing that will do, and there’s no reason to deny yourself. Chocolate is actually good for you when eaten in moderate amounts, and especially if you choose dark varieties (the darker, the better). Even better if you opt for raw cacao, which is packed with antioxidants, and it’s what we used for this here healthy chocolate smoothie. 

This detox-friendly drink satisfies cravings, while packing in good-for-you greens such as spinach and parsley, antioxidant-rich cherries, and beauty-boosting cinnamon. It’s basically dessert in a glass, but still healthy enough to have for breakfast. Isn’t that the dream combo?

Healthy Chocolate Smoothie

The gorgeous color and the slightly tart flavor is given by cherries. You can use fresh or frozen, depending on the season, and will get a tasty smoothie either way. Cherries are packed with fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and copper, which is an important combination when it comes to the immune and nervous systems.

They also aid digestion, help regulate blood pressure, and have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory components. In conclusion: don’t feel guilty snacking on cherries like they’re going out of style!

  • blender

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup frozen or fresh cherries
  • 1 1/2 cups water alternatively: plant milk
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 handful parsley
  • 1 tsp raw cacao
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp honey or 1-2 drops liquid stevia
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut optional

Instructions
 

  • Mix in the blender and serve immediately.
